WHICH STARS ARE PHYSICALLY PERFECT?
We've been all over the world's media with our new story about the Golden Ratio of beauty.
It has been picked up by Mail Online, the Sun and Perez Hilton amongst many others.
The Ancient Greeks said there was a 'Golden Ratio' for all things when they approached perfection. So we thought it would be fun to apply celebrities' figures to this Golden Ratio.
Our research showed that Avengers star Scarlett Johansson is the closest modern-day figure to match the ancient Greeks' idea of physical perfection.
Scarlett's vital statistics of bust, waist and hip measurements give her a 96.4% score against the Golden Ratio of beauty. The hour-glass curves from Scarlett's bust to waist when compared to her hip measurements came up with a ratio of 1.560 which is alarmingly close to the Golden Ratio of beauty of 1.618.
The ratio has been held for thousands of years to represent the paradigm of beauty. Scientists have previously applied it to the ideal lay-out of facial features but until now it has never been used to gauge perfection in women's figures.
Kim Kardashian, 34, was second with a 96.3% Golden Ratio. Helen Mirren, 69, was third with a score of 95.6%. Women with curvier figures came out better under this analysis and Kelly Brook came out fifth but more athletic frames also featured in the top 10 and actress Cameron Diaz was sixth with 91%, and model Elle Macpherson came in seventh with 88.3%. Just behind Elle in eighth was voluptuous actress Salma Hayek with 88% and Katy Perry came ninth with a 92% rating.
Some stars have a higher figures than the perfect Golden Ratio of 1.618, others are lower - but Scarlett's rating is the closest. Our founder Emily Bendellsaid: “We do a lot of research to make sure that our lingerie fits perfectly and that we understand trends around body shape.
"We were running a computer simulation on celebrity women and in doing so we inadvertently discovered that Scarlett Johansson’s figure is pretty much as close as you can get to the perfect Golden Ratio.” Emily stressed: "We were pleased to see that women’s figures were all very different, varying from athletic and slim, to voluptuous and curvy, which shows that you do not have to be have a skinny model-like physique in order to be beautiful.”

HOW TO CALCULATE YOUR OWN GOLDEN RATIO
You can calculate you own Golden Ratio. Measure the circumference of your upper body at the point at which your bust is most prominent (B), your waist at its narrowest (W), and your hips at the widest (H), you can do it in cm or inches it doesn’t matter. Then measure from your bust line down to your waist (label this distance BW), and measure from your Waist to your Hip line HW.
(B – W) x BW x 0.5 = Bust figure.
(H – W) x HW x 0.5 = Hip Figure
And then calculate:
Bust figure + Hip Figure / Hip Figure = your Golden Ratio.
